Summer is Finally Here!

After a long, grueling winter, it's finally summer! AKA Wedding Season! (Our Favorite!)

With so many weddings piled into this season, make your wedding stands out from the rest, with extra fun for you, your new hubby and your guests!

Go Bolder and Brighter: Opting for pastel bridesmaids is definitely on trend, but don't forget to add a pop of something fun. Whether by using flowers, shoes or jewelry, try going for something bright and cheery to make your pictures pop. Add some color to your bridal style as well; a beautiful pair of glittery shoes is fun, but we love when a bride chooses red, coral or turquoise to add a nice little peek of color as they walk down the aisle. Adding more colors also helps give your venue some new life.  If your venue is outdoors, throw in some colored paper lanterns. If you choose indoors, select different color napkins to tie in the colors. Brides tend to shy away from adding something different but it is refreshing to see a little pop of color to liven things up.

Serve up some sweet summer treats! Instead of a candy bar (inviting as it is), try a sundae or Popsicle bar. You and your guests can enjoy a refreshing (and cooling!) treat while taking a break from dancing the night away. Have an assortment of toppings and flavors and voila! something fun that everyone will enjoy! We recommend asking your photographer to stick around your ice cream bar and snap some pictures of your guests' creations.

An outdoor ceremony isn't a must for summer nuptials, keep in mind there are many risks when dealing with the elements. If you opt for keeping everything indoors, you can still have summer surrounding you. The most obvious thing would be to choose flowers that are in season. Peonies make their way out early to mid-June and can be lovely indoors or outdoors. Take a look at our previous blog about rustic/outdoor weddings and feel free to bring those ideas indoors; you can definitely have a "woodsie" feeling indoors (and no one can tell you otherwise!).

As formal as your venue may be, and as we've said many many times, your dress is your choice regardless of everything else, if you've always seen yourself in that beachy style gown with flowing beach hair but for any reason can't have that beach wedding, still go for that look! You'll fill the room with that summer warmth when you walk down that isle.
