Wedding Day Essentials You Didn’t Know You Needed

1. DAY OF CHECK LIST

It’s always good to write things down, especially when you are juggling a lot of small tasks.  You may have a wedding planner or day of coordinator, but having your own checklist to help you keep track  of final details like things you may need to bring with you to the venue, or things you need to pack for your honeymoon will come in handy.  Besides, who doesn’t love the feeling of crossing something off of a to-do list?

2. BEAUTY BAG

Your make up artist will most likely give you a small bag of products that were used to create you wedding day look for touch ups throughout the night, but it’s  nice to add a few of your own things as well.  We recommend bringing blotting papers, hairspray, and extra nail polish that matches your manicure just in case you get any chips the morning of the wedding or during the rehearsal dinner the night before.

3. STEAMER

It’s a great idea to bring a portable steamer with you the day of the wedding.  Your wedding dress should be steamed and ready to wear, but depending on the material, it may wrinkle while your are going from place to place taking photos.  If you do your photos before the ceremony, you may want to touch up any wrinkles you see before you walk down the isle.  This will also come in handy for any bridesmaid dresses that need touching up.  If you are getting ready at a hotel, they may have one that you can borrow if you forget to bring one.

4. GETTING READY ROBES

Robes are essential for you and your bridesmaids if you are getting your hair and makeup done before the ceremony.  You won’t have to worry about ruining your hair like you would if you are changing out of a shirt.  Matching robes make your getting ready pictures more cohesive, and they are a great gift that your bridesmaids can continue to use even after the wedding.

5.  EMERGENCY KIT

In addition to your beauty bag, its good to have a kit of essentials just in case of an emergency.  We suggest having band-aids and some kind of pain reliever with you, deodorant, extra bobby pins in case any fall out during the reception, scissors for any extra threads you may find, and safety pins, just in case your bustle tears and you need to pin up your train.

6. SNACKS

Make sure you bring lots of brunch foods for you and your bridesmaids to have before the ceremony.  Chances are, you are going to start getting ready several hours before you actually walk down the isle, and you will be too busy with pictures and greeting guests to eat before or even during dinner, so snacking throughout the morning is a must.  Also, a little mimosa never hurt when trying to calm the nerves.
