We don't recommend the purchase of your bridesmaids dresses
over the Internet. A dress purchased over the Internet may be a
counterfeit dress or a dress sold by an unauthorized retailer.
The Internet is a fabulous resource for all kinds of things.
Wedding gowns and bridesmaid's dresses are not one of them.
Many of these sites will lead you to believe that:
- You are dealing directly with the designer company when in
reality, you may be buying a counterfeit dress, or one
from a third party which has no relationship with the original
manufacturer. If you buy a dress from an unauthorized dealer
and have a problem with sizing, color variation, or damage in the
fabric, there is no recourse. This special day can be your
worst nightmare.
- They are a retail store, when in fact they may be working out of
a P.O. Box or worse, out of the trunks of their car.
- They are a "buying service" that is ordering directly from the
designer company, when they are actually buying your dresses through
a third party.
What does all this mean for you?
Many of the websites will purchase your dresses through a middleman
who may or may not be dealing directly with the manufacturer. As you
move further away from the original source of your dress you increase
the opportunity for error, which unfortunately, you will not discover
until you receive your dresses. Some of the problems that arise are
receiving the incorrect style or size, wrong or off colors,
different dye lots (varying shades of one color),
defective garments or the worst possible case scenario,
not receiving your dresses in time for the wedding. If
there is a problem, who is going to correct it? Not the Internet
supplier - you will be left with the stress and expense of dealing
with this last minute catastrophe.
There are a million horror stories out there. Why risk potential
catastrophe on the most important day of your life!

save the few dollars you think you are saving, but then you will
still have to pay for shipping charges, and pay more for
alterations. Very often, what you purchased at a discount will
end up costing you more than if you bought it full price through
a full service bridal salon. Unfortunately, many seamstresses out
there are not all experienced with bridal alterations like the once
working for Bridal Shops, and this could be a disaster.
